Rob Battisson |
Rob
Battisson is in his second season as an assistant
coach at the Akron University, having officially
begun his duties for the Akron Zips on March 30,
2007.
Battisson brings over 12 years of coaching and 17
years of competitive playing experience to AMFC, and
most recently served as head men’s coach at
Division-II Chowan University (N.C.) during the
2005-06 season. Prior to his time at Chowan, he was
assistant women’s coach at D-II Northwest Missouri
State from 2003-05. Additionally, Battisson served
as a girl’s staff coach for the Kansas City Olympic
Development Program in 2004 and was camp director of
Joe Machnik’s No. 1 Soccer Camps from 2000-04.
As a student-athlete, Battisson was a three-year
captain at D-II Lock Haven University in Lock Haven,
Pa., where he graduated summa cum laude with a
bachelor of arts degree in English literature. He
earned a master of arts degree from Northwest
Missouri State in 2005.
In his time at Lock Haven, he was a two-time CoSIDA
Academic All-American, a four-time Pennsylvania
State Athletic Conference (PSAC) scholar-athlete and
was twice honored as First-Team All-PSAC.
Battisson hails from the United Kingdom, where he
played and coached in numerous youth and adult
leagues. He holds a Level 2 coaching certificate in
the English Football Association, a B license in the
United States Soccer Federation, a Level 2
goalkeeping license in the National Soccer Coaches
Association of America (NSCAA) and a NSCAA Advanced
Regional Diploma.
Battisson is a member of the English Football
Association, the NSCAA and the U.S. Soccer
Federation. |
